My Father knows best

Our Father knows what's best for us,
So why should we complain...
We always want the sunshine,
But He knows there must be rain.

We love the sound of laughter
And the merriment of cheer;
But our hearts would lose their tenderness
If we never shed a tear.

Our Father tests us often
With suffering and with sorrow;
He tests us, not to punish us,
But to help us meet "tomorrow."

For growing trees are strengthened
When they withstand the storm;
And the sharp cut of the chisel
Gives the marble grace and form.

God never hurts us needlessly,
And He never wastes our pain;
For every loss He sends to us
Is followed by rich gain.

And when we count the blessings
That God has so freely sent;
We will find no cause for murmuring
And no time to lament.

For Our Father loves His children,
And to Him all things are plain;
So He never sends us "pleasure"
When the "soul's deep need is pain."

So whenever we are troubled,
And when everything goes wrong,
It is just God working in us
To make "our spirits strong."

What is it that you have done?

Asked Pilate from Jesus
Who is the Christ?
Why do they hate you so much?
What is that you have done?

What has Jesus done to you?
Has He ever condemned you?
He showed His love even in death
Rose again to redeem & did he not forgive you?

What has Jesus done to you?
Has He not given an eternal hope?
Has He not provided for every need?
Was He not there when you called?

What has Jesus done to you?
Did He not wipe away your tears?
Did He not embrace you when they wanted to stone you?
Did He not give you sight coz' you were blind

Jesus has done something
He conquered death and claimed victory
His purpose has always been to set you free
He has done it!

What is it that you have done?

Who turned off the lights?

It was Saturday night at Kilkenny College, we had the main meeting planned during that evening sessions and suddenly as the main speakers were sharing, there was a complete blackout. In the midst of the darkness we saw light! We quickly passed glowsticks around the auditorium and the worshipped God with the help of two guitars. "This has only happened twice in ten years" commented the School's administration manager, "but your singing is great". I was delighted to see that when everything fails Jesus turns up. The blackout stayed for 3 hours and then there was light again but to me it was a reminder that we should never forget who is incharge. No one could do anything in that situation but God did, He showed up in His own special way!After the blackout, it was all clear.
